Financial Science Program, 4th Year, Tsai Meng-Ting
- The curriculum of the Financial Science Program emphasizes the integration of theory and practice. Under the encouragement and guidance of the department head, I attempted to put the learned concepts of inclusive finance and social responsibility into practice through the “Youth Workplace Internship and Public Sector Summer Job Program” organized by the Taoyuan City Government. I also hoped to experience a new environment, make new friends, discover how I could contribute to society, and cultivate and enhance my skills.
- My internship unit was the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Before joining the foundation, I initially thought there would be more activities focused on caring for children with cerebral palsy. However, I learned that it requires even more love and patience to interact with them. The work atmosphere at the Cerebral Palsy Foundation is relatively free, so it’s necessary to manage tasks and time effectively on my own. Additionally, I was responsible for contacting various Mid-Autumn Festival gift box manufacturers’ back-end systems, creating cost-performance tables, editing posts, cutting videos, writing copy, assisting with website migration, and learning about keyword writing. Although it was only a short month, I gained a lot of work skills and had a very harmonious working relationship with colleagues and supervisors. Overall, it was a very happy experience.
- After the internship, my reflection is that the courses and guidance provided by the Financial Science Program and the department head at school equipped us with the fundamental abilities to face various workplaces and environments. Furthermore, it instilled in us the courage to try different challenges. Through interdisciplinary learning, I believe there will be unexpected help and gains in future career development. I am very grateful to the program, the department head, the Taoyuan City Government, and the foundation for giving me this summer internship opportunity!
